Since I spent the entire day watching the swim meet yesterday as well as Friday, I spent today doing laundry. It'll be less busy now that high school swimming is over for the year, but we'll miss seeing the girls and the other swim parents. Now Hannah will go back to swimming with MOST until D1's in March.

Hannah and the team mascot, Jimmy, in the van on the way to Lincoln on Saturday. Tasha and Taylor were the only Burke girls to swim on Saturday so they had lots of cheerleaders. Each year after finals the team (girls and boys), coaches and parents eat at Cracker Barrel in Lincoln. Joe and I watched the meet from home. I thought that I'd get things done, but I was planted in the recliner for the whole meet!

The Burke girls swam in the morning session at the State swim meet. These eight girls were happy to make the trip to Lincoln on Friday (front row): Lauryn, Hannah, Tasha, (back row): Mary, Taylor, Shelbi, Kylie, and Paige. Hannah swam in three relays and the 200IM. She swam a new best time of 2:19.42 in the 200IM. Joe and I drove to Lincoln to watch the meet.

It's Thursday, so I had to work at Bag'n Save after school. Hannah decided supper was too much trouble and just went for the chips. I'm glad to see that she's trying to contain the crumbs by eating right over the open bag! Guess I need to plan more crockpot meals.

Jessie and Teddy are always waiting for me after school. Now matter what kind of day I've had, they make me happy. Of course, I'm not always thrilled when it's time to go for a walk or when the carpet is a mess but they are worth it!

Today was Jerry's memorial service and funeral. I'm so glad that I was able to be in the Quad Cities to see Barb, Edna and Jerry's family. I wasn't able to stay for the funeral which was at Rock Island Arsenal but I got to say goodbye at the service in Milan. A lot of Jerry's family and friends attended and Pastor Joy did a really nice job with the service.

I am in the Quad Cities, so Hannah took Joe back to the ortho for his second visit this afternoon. Luckily she didn't have school today. His arm is healing but isn't as straight as the doctor wants it to be, so he put a pad into the hard shell that Joe is wearing. Joe goes back in two weeks to see if it's working. We are still hoping that this will work and that he won't have surgery.
