Hannah and her friend Kaci hung out tonight. They've been friends since 7th grade at Beveridge.  Kaci goes to Millard West high school, so they don't get to see each other as much as they'd like.  It's fun whenever they are together--lots of laughter.

Hannah donated blood today at school!  I had told her that it was no big deal to donate, she should be fine...well, first she had to go to the nurse to get an ok that she weighed enough to donate, then they had a hard time finding a vein to use.  "Apparently I have no veins in my right arm and only one in my left" is how she put it!  After donating, she didn't feel well and had to lie down on a mat with her feet up for awhile.  By the time she felt better, lunch was over and she had missed it!  She said that they gave her more snacks in the donation area.  Tonight she said that her arm hurt. Good thing there was no swim practice today.  I didn't ask if she'll give blood next time!

Becca sent me a text that she had made it to Iowa City.  She didn't mention that they were having dinner at Bennigans!  Suz and Bec are going to Mom & Dad's for Easter.

I don't have to work at B&S tonight, so I'm cooking!  So far I've made sloppy joes, pasta, parmesan rice and hamburger helper.  We've got leftover salmon that I baked yesterday and tomorrow I've got a big pork roast for the crock pot.  Hopefully that will get us through lunches this week and a few days of me working.  Hannah and I are having "brinner" tonight--that's "breakfast for dinner."  Joe is at choir practice at church until after 7:00, so he'll probably eat some of the salmon--so none of the things on the stove is even for tonight!  Wonder if I can get some help with the dishes?

Joe sang in the Palm Sunday Cantata at both services today. Hannah and I went to the 8:30 service. We like that time better (and the choir was wearing robes at that service--better for the picture!) The choir sounded wonderful this morning. Joe's friend, Jerry Joseph also sang today. He and Kelly still attend St. Tim's. They are doing the same cantata this year. Jerry has a very nice voice and he and Jennifer, our choir director, are good friends. Joe and Jerry went to middle school together in Davenport and met up again when we joined St. Tim's.

This picture makes me laugh.  Poor Teddy just got "yelled" at by Jessie when he got too close to her with her bone.  He just looks so sad!  You can see that it stopped raining today, but it's pretty cold outside.  On the bright side, I still haven't had to mow the grass.  It's too wet today.  Going to work on scrapbook pictures and go to B&S later.  Hannah is busy (as usual) and Joe is working (as usual)!

It rained here all day today.  We ended up getting about 1.5 inches but it seemed like more.  It never poured, but was a steady rain that got me pretty wet every time I went outside.  It seemed like I was out a lot today too--going back and forth to the main school building, getting the kids off of the bus, walking the dogs, etc.  I'm so glad that I have a waterproof coat (thanks, Dad).  I took this picture of the raindrops hitting the pool yesterday afternoon.  I had a hard time keeping the camera dry.  I didn't know how hard it is to take a picture and hold an umbrella at the same time!

Happy Birthday, Mom!  Thanks for sending me the "picture of the day!" It looks like you got a lot of nice cards (including the one by your hand! ha) and I hope that your day was great.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks.  It's too bad the Emma can't be there too.  I guess we'll have to eat her piece of cake!

Ahhh, domestic bliss...actually Joe is being a good sport about me taking my picture of the day while he is doing the dishes.  I made spaghetti for supper tonight and for a change we were all three here together to eat. Hannah got home from swimming and Joe from work at about the same time.  It is nice to sit down together.  It's really nice to have some help with clean up too!  Hannah left for church and youth group after eatting, so Joe and I finished up.  Now he's taking a nap and I'm going to watch American Idol.  Don't want spend too much time together!

Today we were all kind of out of sorts--so this blurry picture really does represent today.  I worked at both jobs today, Joe worked all evening and feels like he is getting sick.  Hannah went to school, swam, helped Monica (across the street) with yard work and then did homework.  By 10:00 we were all grumpy and tired.  Hopefully tomorrow is less stressful.

Finally got an email from Emma today!  This is a picture from her school trip to Northern Greece.  I think it is the Temple of Apollo at Delphi in the background.  She doesn't label her pictures on facebook.  She says that she has them labeled on her computer.  She starts her spring break this Friday.  She's going to stay in Athens and see some museums etc in town.  I hear that Easter is a huge celebration in Athens.  I hope she gets to experience some of it.

It seemed like this is all we saw of Hannah today!  She drove herself to 8:30 church this morning, then went to the Humane Society to walk dogs.  She was home for a quick lunch, then drove to UNO for an AP Geography study session.  After a fast dinner she went to movie night at church with the youth group to watch Jesus Christ Superstar.  She got home at 9, took a shower, had a snack and went to bed.  Maybe I'll get to chat with her tomorrow!

I got up to walk the dogs this morning only to discover that Joe had already taken them out.  It was the first walk that he has done by himself since he broke his arm.  I had a cup of coffee on the front porch and read some mail while I waited for them to get home.  I could get used to this!

Hannah brought home the floor plan for her MOBA project in CAD.  Her teacher plotted off her plans of the main floor.  She is also working on a finished basement, elevations, foundation and electrical plans.  We are going to need a bigger fridge!

Hannah and I went to the post office after school today to get our passports.  We had to make an appointment (three weeks ago!) so we didn't have to wait very long to get in.  We had everything ready, so we were finished quickly.  Hopefully there won't be a government shut down and we will get them in a few weeks.

Happy Birthday to me!  I had a very nice day today.  I did have to work, but not at B&S.  After school I got an iced coffee from Scooters and took spring pictures in the backyard.  Hannah, Joe and I had take out from Qdoba for dinner, I talked to Mom & Dad, Suz, Irene, and Becca and got a nice ecard and note from Emma.  Got some nice gifts and ended the day with yummy carmel apple pie from the Farm House and Dancing with the Stars.  Couldn't ask for much more!

Joe and I went to the Burke Honor's Tea this afternoon to see Hannah recieve her Academic letter.  She also played violin with a small ensemble from Orchestra during the gathering and refreshments portion of the event.  Now she has to figure out where to put this letter--on her jacket or bulletin board.

Hannah and I "had" to use the $10 in Kohl's cash and the 30% off discount (that ended today) to get this new outfit.  She's ready for the warmer weather that we are getting.  Dexter had to sneak into this picture too--you know how much he likes attention.

April Fools!  But I actually did hit Joe on the broken arm tonight.  Luckily it was just a light smack with my hand.  I still felt bad when he pointed out what I had done.  Wow, I'd hate to go backwards in this healing process!
