Joe was so excited to make this t-shirt for Emma's birthday.  He had them specially made and ordered one for each of us--we included Becca's shirt in the picture since we didn't have an actual Becca.  They are Star Trek shirts that include lots of obscure treky references.  Yeah, we're cool.

This is all that survived of the truss that Hannah made for ACE.  She got the highest score for the Burke entries in the contest.  They see how much weight each truss will hold compared to the weight of the truss itself.   Of course, in order to test the strength, they put on weight until it breaks...I guess we should have taken a picture of it before the test!  Anyway, good job, Hannah!

Happy Birthday, Emma!  Mom, Dad and Suzi planned on having lunch in Grinnell today with Emma and some of her friends to celebrate Em's birthday.  I decided to drive over to join the party.  We had a fun time and Emma got some more gifts and cupcakes.  It was a lot of driving, but worth it!

It's only the 10th and I already have the April page for Mom's calendar done--of course that's because I want to take it with to Grinnell tomorrow and give it to Mom.  But whatever the reason, it's still done already!

Emma is as excited to get a Pooh pillow for her 22nd birthday as she was for her 2nd birthday!  Her friends had a fun party for her at Grinnell on her birthday--cake, gifts, dancing and even some trick candles that almost got too tricky for them! Happy, happy birthday Emma!

Tonight we had dinner at Champion's for the Burke swim banquet.  It was late getting started, so we took pictures before the dinner.  Hannah looks so little next to her coach!

It's 7:10 pm and we are all done with dinner, dishes and making lunches for tomorrow.  Yay!  Now we can relax and watch a show that we recorded earlier this week.  What a great evening.

I made a big pot of ham and potato soup today.  As it turned out, it was too much for one pot, so I had to use a second pot.  Hopefully it'll taste as good as it smells since we have so much of it!

Haircuts!  Yay, next time I won't wait until I have to put my bangs in a front ponytail like Pebbles on the Flintstones before getting it cut.  Hannah just got a trim, but it looks nice.

Hannah is on the tennis team!  We went and bought her a tennis raquet and shoes today.  She also got the little yellow dampener that you see on the raquet.  She said that's pretty much how her face looks whenever the tennis coach is telling them what they are going to do.  It's a whole new lingo to learn.

It was "Dress like a Teacher" day at Burke today.  Hannah chose to dress like Mrs. Zwyiec, her Spanish teacher.  When she got to class, she was happy to see how much they looked alike!  Mrs. Z thought it was funny too and had a student take this picture.
