Hannah is swimming 7 individual events and 4 relays at the D1 meet this weekend.  Erin, Kelsey, Hannah and Becca make up the 15 and over relay team.

Hannah had some for her swim team friends spend the night tonight.  They tye dyed shirts and socks and finished painting the Angry Birds for the swim meet this weekend.   They had lots of fun and didn't stay up too late.

Joe worked on Becca's bike this afternoon.  After some adjustments and a trip to the hardware store, he thinks that he's got it going again.

The swim girls decided that Angry Birds was their theme for D1's this summer.  Hannah volunteered to make some decorations.  The birds are turning out really cute!  Now she has to try to figure out a way to make them water resistant.

We woke up to lots of thunder this morning.  The pools were closed at Hitchcock and at Champions so the girls and I got to spend the morning together.  Unfortunately the sun came out this afternoon and the humidity soared.  It was a fun morning together but the storm didn't bring much relief from the heat.

All three girls had a rare evening off together, so we rented a couple of Wii games to play.  They really had fun with Super Mario Bros.  We get to keep it until Sunday, but it might have to go on someone's Christmas list.

Heat wave continues!  The weather people said that the temperature today would get to almost 100, but our thermometer read a lot higher!  I saw 111, but it dropped to 110 degrees when I had my camera ready.  This temp is measured from our backyard, which is on the west side of the house.  That's also where the dogs go outside--needless to say, they haven't been out much this past week!

Becca finished her sock!  She has been knitting like crazy the past few days.  It looks really good!  Now she has to start on the second one.   I'm hoping that I'll get a pair too!

Teddy loves being with Joe, but he can't quite bring himself to get into the pool.  He'll sit on the deck with his front paws on the ladder so they are in the water, but that's as far as he will go.  Joe tried to coax him into the pool to cool off, but Ted won't get in--even for Joe.  Of course, Jessie has been in and out already!

The house cleanup is going slowly.  I'm overwhelmed with where to start and what to do with everything!  I keep telling myself that anything I do is better than nothing, but sometimes "nothing" wins out!

It's 6:50 am and Hannah is off for a day and night with her friends.  They are going to morning practice, then out for brunch, back to Summer's house to watch a Harry Potter movie, afternoon swim practice, shopping, supper and finally the new Harry Potter movie.  They are planning to spend the night at Summer's house after the movie.  I guess I'll talk to Hannah tomorrow!

Becca and Emma make good use of their graduation gowns!  They are ready to head out for the midnight premier of the Harry Potter movie.  They left before 9 pm and got home some time after 3am.

So, I got a free 7x9 photo book from Shutterfly...good thing I don't have to pay per hour on the website, or it would be one expensive "free" book!  I'm just as picky making a photo book on the computer as I am making a scrapbook page on paper!

Hannah isn't really angry here--she's just concentrating on her music.  Ok, maybe she's a little annoyed with me for taking the picture, but mostly it's concentrating!  At least that's what I'm telling myself! :)

I've finally made the time to take a load of stuff from the basement to Goodwill.  As you can see, there was a lot already piled up waiting for me to load into the car.  I had to take this picture from the stairs to get everything into the frame.  I don't know why I waited so long to do this, it only took about an hour to get this all to the Goodwill.  Hopefully I'll keep on task and get the basement looking better.  That's the plan for my days off in July--now if I can just stick to it!

Hannah and Becca take after Grandma in their interest and ability to knit and crochet.  Becca is currently making a pillow and Hannah has decided to try her hand at knitting socks.  I'm looking forward to seeing and using their finished products!

Our friends, Ron and Teresa, gave us their van!  Her name is Mary Kay, a 2000 maroon Ford with air conditioning that works!!!  Joe will be driving her most of the time.  Ron and Teresa wanted to keep the van in the family--so they thought of "JoJo."  What great friends!

Ok, so we actually took this picture last night, but it still represents today for me.  Mom, Dad and Suzi left this morning after we had breakfast together.  The girls and Joe worked all day and I went to B&S before they got home, so my time with famiy this morning was the highlight of my day!

After a long day at work, the girls weren't super excited about taking pictures, but I persuaded them to "do it for Mom."  Even though we didn't get to spend much time all together today, we had fun in smaller groups.  Mom and Dad went to Panera with Hannah; Mom, Suzi, Hannah, Becca and I went shoe shopping; and Dad spent some quality time at Cabelas!

Mom, Dad and Suzi arrived this afternoon for a short visit.  After a bit of a discussion, we ended up at Applebee's for supper.  We had to wait awhile for a table, but we used the time well--taking pictures and checking out the menu!

Today I'm trying to get the house picked up and ready for company.  Mom, Dad and Suzi are coming tomorrow to visit for a couple of days.  Since we've all been working so much, the housework has really been neglected.  Em and Bec went to work early at Champion's today and brought home bagels from Panera for breakfast.  I'm tired and struggling to get much done because the neighbor's party and fireworks didn't end until the police arrived at 3:00 this morning.  Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep.  My bagel break is over now so I need to get to the vacuuming.  I really wish I didn't work at B&S tonight and all day tomorrow!

The girls all worked at Champion's pool today but they were all home in time to go to the fireworks display with us.  We don't go to the show downtown because it's just too hard to get a parking spot.  Champion's puts on a pretty nice show and we only have to drive over to the Kohl's parking lot.  We bring a blanket and sit on the grass by Arby's.  The show was really good.  It lasted about 20 minutes with lots of big fireworks and a fun finale.  My camera doesn't capture fireworks very well, but I got a few good pictures.  I ran out of battery so I didn't get many pictures of the finale.  We had fun watching the show and drinking our Arby's shakes.  Of course there was a long wait in the parking lot to leave, but the girls managed to entertain themselves in the car--lots of laughter from the backseats!

I'm looking a little crazy in this picture.  Probably because I feel a little crazy about agreeing to work 12-8 today in the Liquor department.  It'll be crazy there today too!  Joe is doing his usual Sunday stuff at church and then has work stuff planned.  No fun for him either.

I have to go to work today, so I didn't want to get into too much cleaning.  I did some laundry...I guess I didn't get a lot accomplished today, but I did finish Mom's calendar page.  Sometimes you just have to ignore the mess and do what you want!

Tonight I got home from B&S and it was still so hot outside that the girls and Joe were hanging out in the basement where it's cooler.  When I went downstairs to see them (and take a picture) they decided to be passed out from the heat.  I'm noticing a theme to my blog pictures...

Em, Bec, Hani and I decided to go to eat at Frazoli's tonight.  Of course, I wanted a picture of us before we left and of course, the girls wanted to do a goofy picture.  We took a few and decided that we liked "Tall Hannah" the best!  We had such a nice time at Frazoli's.  The food isn't that good (my opinion) but I really enjoyed our lively (probably too loud) conversation!

Uncooperative!  Becca was laying her head on Teddy while he lounged on the couch tonight. As soon as I got the camera, Ted rolled over and Becca sat up.  There went my sweet picture.  Ok, I'll just get a picture of Becca since she looks nice tonight--and this is how she cooperated!  Oh well.
